Where is Mare & Furrow located?

Mare & Furrow is part of The Plough Inn in the village of Stalisfield in the Kent countryside. It is around 20 minutes from Faversham, Ashford, Maidstone, Canterbury and Sittingbourne, making it an easy meeting point for groups.


How many people can stay at Mare & Furrow?

The accommodation can host up to 18 adults across six suites or 12 adults and 12 younger children, allowing groups to stay together while still enjoying their own space and privacy.


Do we get exclusive use of the accommodation?

Yes. Your group has exclusive use of the Mare & Furrow accommodation and shared spaces during your stay.


Is food included in the stay?

Food can be arranged as part of your stay. From relaxed breakfasts to celebratory dinners, meals are prepared by the award-winning kitchen at The Plough Inn.


Is the food award winning?

Yes. The Plough Inn has consistently been awarded two AA Rosettes for the quality of Richard’s cooking.


Are dogs allowed?

Yes. Three of the suites are dog friendly. Just let us know when booking so we can make arrangements.


Are children allowed to stay?

Yes. The suites can accommodate children and the setting works well for family groups.


Is there parking available?

Yes, there is plenty of parking available at The Plough Inn for guests staying at Mare & Furrow.


Can I charge my electric car?

Yes. Two EV charging points are available at the pub. Just let us know and we will activate the charger for you.


Are there walks nearby?

Yes. The property sits within the Kent Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, with excellent countryside walks starting directly from the inn.


Can you cater for dietary requirements?

Yes. Because the food is prepared fresh, dietary requirements can usually be accommodated. Please let us know when arranging your stay.


Can we celebrate a special occasion during our stay?

Many groups visit Mare & Furrow for birthdays, reunions and celebrations, and we are happy to help plan meals or arrangements around the occasion.


Do we have the pub to ourselves during our stay?

Your group has exclusive use of the Mare & Furrow accommodation and a private wing of The Plough Inn during your stay. This gives you your own spaces to gather and dine together, while still enjoying the atmosphere and hospitality of the pub.


How far in advance should we book?

Group stays tend to book well in advance, especially for weekends and special occasions. If you have a particular date in mind it is best to get in touch early so we can check availability and help shape the stay around your plans.
